Squamish is a fairly small town, halfway between Vancouver and Whistler, BC. However, we are not immune from the problems that plague the larger urban centers. Today, as I left my apartment, I was accosted by a roving gang of thugs. This posse of ruffians lay in wait until I exited my apartment, and then [...]

I am so tired of the intolerance displayed by people at the McCain-Palin rallies south of the border. People screaming that Obama is a friend of terrorists, or a secret Muslim displays the level of maturity of the average Republican voter. The question needs to be asked, “Where is this hatred and intolerance coming from?” [...]

The majority of Christians for the most part, are decent, honest people that try to live out their faith as best they can. Then you have people like this:

I just read an artice in the Globe and Mail, which says NHL Governors are talking about putting a second NHL Team in Toronto. For the love of God, stop torturing these poor people. Now they will just have to wait twice as long for hell to freeze over.

Today is Blog Action Day ‘08, and the theme is Poverty.
As I think about poverty, and all that it entails, I am reminded of the small community I grew up in, and even the attitudes of family and relatives. Sadly, many times the response, in seeing a homeless person was simply, “Get a job, [...]

A month ago, the Iranian parliament voted in favour of a draft bill, entitled “Islamic Penal Code”, which would codify the death penalty for any male Iranian who leaves his Islamic faith. Women would get life imprisonment. The majority in favour of the new law was [...]

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — At least 900 Christian families have fled Mosul in the past week, terrified by a series of killings and threats by Muslim extremists ordering them to convert to Islam or face possible death, officials said Saturday.
Christians protest in Mosul last month ahead of elections. An official says protests may have led [...]

After the latest incident involving another individual being “tased to death” in Langley, the newest logo for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver/Whistler was unveiled today:
Just a warning to all our upcoming 2010 visitors: When you see the boys in blue (Okay, black pants, yellow stripe, and black jacket with a grey shirt…), keep your [...]

Forget water-boarding. America has a new method to extract information from terror suspects being help at Guantanamo Bay, and human rights activists are crying foul, claiming the method violates every aspect of the Geneva Convention. This method is so effective that it has a success rate of extracting information, when used, of virtually 100%.
That method? [...]
